It’s finally here, a new school year! With a new year comes the opportunity to bring some new talent onto the team. As new students start their time at Carleton University, and old ones return there are lots of opportunities to get out into the open and to let people know about Ravens Racing.
Our recruitment varies from school organized club fairs, to meet and greets, to formally organized club and team meetings, to our personal favourite…. Rolling the car out around campus and revving the engine.
Here at Ravens Racing we break our team up into two sections. The first is a Capstone Project team. In the fourth year of an engineering degree at Carleton every student is required to participate in a full year engineering project for school credit. For a lucky 25 – 30 people that project can be our Formula SAE team. The second (and much larger) portion of Ravens Racing is our volunteer team. Anyone who is enrolled at Carleton is free to join the team regardless of program, or experience.
Our first formal meeting always attracts quite a crowd and we’re happy to see new faces and introduce everyone to what we do, and what we are going to be doing together in the coming year.
